Wing Commander

Born in a small colony on Dantooine, Dirk Badgewick never wanted anything more than to be a pilot.  While he was still a child, the Empire came to power, and his family fled Dantooine.  The Badgewick family stayed on the move, and young Dirk never knew why until he was older.  When he reached his teens Dirk realized that his parents were members of the Rebel Alliance.  He enlisted in the Alliance himself, and trained to be a fighter pilot.

Dirk's natural abilities made him a great pilot.  But, his equally natural aptitudes for information-gathering were going unused...until Dirk came to the attention of Commander Airen Cracken, the Commander-in-Chief of Alliance Intelligence.  Cracken made Dirk a special operative of Alliance Intelligence.

After a brief but distinguished record of service, Dirk was assigned to his most difficult task.  He infiltrated the Interdictor cruiser Charibdis, with the task of gaining whatever information he could about this new class of ship.  After serving aboard the Charibdis for nearly six months, Badgewick encountered a Special Operations group from Aduba III, assigned to incapacitate the ship.   Dirk helped them in their task, and finally returned to report to Commander Cracken.

During Dirk's absence, Cracken had begun to develop Wraith Task Force-a top-secret arm of Alliance Intelligence and SpecOps, made from all branches of the Alliance military and answering only to Cracken.  Dirk was promoted to Commander and placed in command of Wraith Task Force.  He recruited the group from Aduba III into Wraith, which operates from a captured and modified Imperial Pursuit-class cruiser called the Argent
